Renowned German football outlet Bild has debunked reports suggesting that English Premier League club Newcastle United has made an offer for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
Despite the forward’s failed winter transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, Boniface continues to attract speculation in the transfer market. However, Bild has clarified that Newcastle has not made any approach to Bayer Leverkusen regarding the 24-year-old.
"Boniface is happy at Bayer Leverkusen, despite his near move to Al-Nassr during the winter transfer window before the deal collapsed at the last minute," the report stated.
Boniface Responds in Style
Following the collapse of his Saudi move, Boniface has quickly put the uncertainty behind him, delivering impressive performances for Leverkusen. The striker found the net in recent matches against Köln and Hoffenheim, reaffirming his commitment to the Bundesliga leaders.
With Leverkusen aiming for domestic and European success, Boniface remains a key figure in Xabi Alonso’s squad as they push for silverware this season.
