DFB Pokal: Boniface sends Leverkusen to the semis

Victor Boniface came off the bench to give DFB Pokal Holders, Bayer Leverkusen the Winner in extra time to defeat FC Koln in the DFB Pokal, Nigeriasoccertnet.com reports.

Boniface scored his 10th goal of the season as the defending champions came from two goals down to beat FC Koln in the quarter-finals of the German Cup.

DFB Pokal quarter-final derby saw 45 minutes of play until the first goal was scored. Cologne broke the deadlock 10 minutes after additional time in the first half.

As it looked like Cologne was going home with the win, Patrick Schick headed home the equaliser for Leverkusen 5 minutes into the additional time, taking the game to extra time.

Eight minutes into first-half extra time, Boniface scored from close range to put the league champions in the lead for the first time in the game. A consecutive goal for the Nigerian since his return from injury.

The goal eventually became the winner as the Werkself held on for the win to progress to the last 4.
