Arsenal and Barcelona identified Chelsea forward Joao Pedro as an alternative to Julian Alvarez, after Atletico Madrid refused to let the Argentina international leave.

According to football insider Ekrem Konur, both clubs had been monitoring the Brazil player. However, Joao Pedro opted to remain at Chelsea and extend his contract with the club.
The 24-year-old’s current agreement with Chelsea runs until the end of June 2034. His transfer value is estimated at 80 million euros.

Joao Pedro has made four Premier League appearances this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
