Maduka Okoye faces possible four-year ban over betting allegations

Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye is under investigation for allegedly betting on his yellow card in a Serie A match against Lazio on 11 March 2024, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Udine Prosecutor's Office is probing the 25-year-old Nigeria international over suspicious betting patterns during the match.

Okoye, who received a yellow card for time-wasting after 64 minutes, could face a ban of up to four years if found guilty.

The goalkeeper has been sidelined since undergoing wrist surgery in November 2024 and has yet to return to action. Udinese recently signed Egil Selvik as a precautionary measure.
