The Nigeria international defender's deal has been in the spotlight after a strong 2024/25 campaign, having settled in at right-back as preferred by Nuno Santos. However, with contract talks still ongoing, Forest reportedly has an option to extend his contract until 2026, but they are pushing for long-term continuity.

Aina, who joined on a free transfer from Torino, has on multiple occasions expressed his wish to continue with the club, which undoubtedly gives Forest the edge in committing him to a new deal.
