Petr Cech recalls collision that changed his life

Petr Cech has remembered the day a routine challenge in a match between Chelsea and Reading nearly cost him his life.

The incident happened on 14 October 2006, when the Czech goalkeeper collided with Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt in the opening minute. Cech suffered a fractured skull and required emergency surgery.

Twenty years on, the former goalkeeper has recalled the events that changed his life.

Cech ended his playing career in 2021.
