Remo Stars Ladies remain top as Edo Queens sustain chase

Remo Stars Ladies keep looking unstoppable as they finish the first round of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women Football League top of group A while Edo Queens continue to chase, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

A goal from Bolaji Olamide and an hattrick from Kafayat Bashiru gave the Sky Blue Queens an emphatic 4-0 win over Nasarawa Amazon's at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.

Olamide opened score 10 minutes into the game before Kafayat Bashiru added one more 5 minutes later to end the first half with a 2-goal lead.

Bashiru scored her second of the day in the 50th minutes to extend the hosts lead. It became 4-0 after Bashiru completed her hattrick in the 78th minutes.

Defending champions Edo Queens remained on course for the top of group A with a 3-0 win over Ekiti Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Chioma Moses opened score from the spot in the 12th minutes before Mary Mamudu doubled the lead on 56 minutes. Kafayat Mafisere  put the icing on the cake 4 minutes later.

In Abuja, Naija Ratels defeated  Benue Queens 1-0 courtesy of a Sofia Bankole's goal in the 90th minutes.

Delta Queens also beat Ibom Angels 1-0 through Princess Adams 51 minutes goal in Asaba.
