Rivers Angels blow away Adamawa Queens

Rivers Angels remained unbeaten and joint top of group B of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women Football League after thrashing Adamawa Queens in their match day seven encounter, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 2021 league champions brushed aside Adamawa Queens 6-0 at the  Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in thrilling fashion.

Titilayo Aweda started the goal fest with a 20-minute strike before Peace Effiong made it 2-0 in the 24th minute. Mary Moses rounded off sthe core in the first half on 37 minutes to give the hosts a comfortable lead at the break.

Peace Effiong continued the onslaught in the second half with her second of the day in the 53rd minute. Mary Moses scored her second also with 15 minutes left to the end of the game.

Moses completed her hat trick four minutes later to put her former side to the sword at the end of the final whistle.

The win keeps Rivers Angels second on the same 17 points as Bayelsa Queens in group B as the first round of the league draws to a close.
