Somto Boniface ends Chelsea spell as he completes Ipswich Town deadline transfer

Nigeria descent Somto Boniface has ended his Chelsea stay after the youngster officially completed a deadline transfer switch to fellow English Premier League outfit Ipswich Town, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Ipswich Town has bolstered its ranks with the signing of promising young left-back Somto. The 18-year-old defender joins the club from Chelsea's youth system, where he made two appearances for their U21s in the EFL Trophy this season.

Somto has represented England at various youth levels but is also eligible to represent Nigeria. He will continue his development with Ipswich Town.

He is potentially in line for his debut in an Ipswich shirt next week when the U21s, managed by John McGreal, take on Bristol City at Playford Road.
