Scooped from an exclusively with Bsnsports.com.ng in Abuja on Thursday, Gullong emphasized the importance of a unified supporters' club in motivating the national team and ensuring better results on the international stage.

He explained that while the Super Eagles rely on 11 players on the field, the supporters club plays a crucial role as the "twelfth player" in boosting the morale of the team. He pointed out that previous disunity among different factions of the supporters had led to distractions that negatively affected the team’s performance. Gullong reflected on times when individual supporters’ groups had created confusion during matches, which he believes contributed to subpar performances from the team.

"A unified supporters club is key to the Super Eagles’ success. If we come together, the players will remain focused, and we will send them the right message," Gullong stated. "Unity will help us push forward and ensure that the team performs better, especially in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers."

Currently, Nigeria has five different supporters’ clubs, and Gullong stressed that only by consolidating their efforts and presenting a united front can the country’s fans contribute meaningfully to the team’s progress. With the World Cup qualifiers on the horizon, he remains optimistic that unity among the supporters will lead to improved results for the Super Eagles.
