The defender has missed his Saudi club Al Kholood's last two league games due to a muscle injury, and his status for the upcoming international fixtures is uncertain.

Al Kholood has yet to release a report on Troost-Ekong's health status, leaving Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle hoping for a speedy recovery.

The injury concern comes at a bad time for Nigeria, with Semi Ajayi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Raphael Onyedika already ruled out or doubtful for the qualifiers.
