Bendel Insurance assistant coach Jolomi Atune says his side will recover from their 2-1 defeat by Ranchers Bees in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Benin Arsenals fell to defeat in their matchday four fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano last Saturday, despite cancelling out an early second-half goal from the hosts.
Ranchers Bees took the lead four minutes after half-time when Chiedozie Jude Okorie opened the scoring in the 49th minute.
Insurance responded 17 minutes later as Lekan Gabriel found the net to make it 1-1.
The home side had the final say, though, with Mohammed Rabiu Zulkifilu scoring 11 minutes before full-time to secure all three points for Ranchers Bees. The goal was Zulkifilu’s fifth of the season for the NPFL newcomers.
Atune dismissed concerns about the result and said the team remained focused on improving.
“All is well. The result wasn’t favourable. You win some and lose some; that’s the game,” Atune told Eaglessports Radio.
“The game wasn’t bad. Both teams did their best, but in football, one side must win.
“There are no regrets about the result. The journey is still far; it’s a marathon.
“I will say the goals we conceded were as a result of a loss of concentration, but we will get it right. This team is still a work in progress.”
Insurance manager Kennedy Boboye’s team will have the opportunity to return to winning ways when they host Ikorodu City in their matchday five fixture.
The match will be played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Wednesday.
