Manchester United manager Michael Carrick declined to say whether he had considered removing Bruno Fernandes as club captain.
Carrick said his decisions would always be guided by what he believes is in Manchester United’s best interests, but did not directly answer whether Fernandes’ captaincy had been discussed.
The issue follows Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat by Como in the Champions League, after which Fernandes publicly criticised the coaching staff’s tactical decisions.
