Chelsea close in on Strasbourg winger Gessime Yassine

Chelsea are reportedly nearing an agreement to sign Strasbourg’s Morocco Under-? right winger Gessime Yassine, with talks said to have made significant progress, according to former Blues goalkeeper coach Christophe Lollichon.

Speaking to Ouest-France, Lollichon suggested the 20-year-old is now edging closer to a move to the London club. The transfer has not yet been officially confirmed.

Yassine joined Strasbourg from Dunkerque at the beginning of the year in a deal believed to be worth 7 million euros. He has since made 25 appearances for the Alsace club, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

His attacking displays have attracted attention from Chelsea, who have continued to focus on recruiting young players regarded as having significant potential.

Mohamed Chaouch has described Yassine as a player with the qualities to become “a future key figure in Ligue 1”.

The winger has also attracted interest from FC Barcelona, as reported exclusively by Africafoot. One of his notable performances came against RC Lens in August, when he was named player of the match.

That display added to his growing profile and strengthened the belief that he could develop into an important player at the highest level.

Yassine remains under contract at Strasbourg until 2030 and is valued at 20 million euros by Transfermarkt. Any move to Chelsea would represent another step in his career and would take place against the background of the relationship between the two clubs within the BlueCo group.

The deal would therefore link Chelsea’s recruitment strategy with a player who has made a rapid impression since arriving in Strasbourg. However, no formal announcement has been made and the transfer remains subject to confirmation.

Strasbourg’s next fixture is their seventh match of the French league season, against Paris St-Germain. The match has been priced at 6.25 for a Strasbourg victory, 5.60 for a draw and 1.38 for a Paris St-Germain win by 1xbet.
