It is too soon to judge how Matvey Safonov has developed during his time at PSG, according to Rinat Dasaev, the silver medallist from UEFA Euro 1988.

Dasaev said goalkeepers should be assessed only after they have completed at least several seasons, rather than on the basis of a short run of performances.
The former goalkeeper acknowledged that Safonov still makes mistakes but believes it is premature to draw firm conclusions from them.

Safonov has made 12 appearances in the 2026/2027 season and has conceded 16 goals.
