Shooting Stars Sports Club returned to winning ways in the EUROMATCH NPFL on Friday, beating Ranchers Bees 3-1 in Ibadan to bring an end to their five-match league winless run.
The Oluyole Warriors had entered the opening fixture of matchday nine without a victory in their previous five matches, suffering three defeats and drawing two.
Desmond Ojietefian gave the home side an early advantage when he opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Ranchers Bees responded shortly afterwards, with Isah Aliyu restoring parity in the third minute.
3SC regained the lead just before the interval, however, as Damilola Akinola scored in the third minute of first-half added time.
The hosts had an opportunity to extend their advantage seven minutes after the restart when they were awarded a penalty in the 52nd minute. Sodiq Ibrahim stepped up but was unable to convert, with the Ranchers Bees goalkeeper saving the spot-kick.
3SC continued to press for a decisive third goal and eventually secured it in the 71st minute through Qamar Adegoke.
The result moved 3SC up to 12th place in the league table with 11 points. Ranchers Bees remain seventh on eight points.
