Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League newcomers Coventry City after the club confirmed the signing on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Nigerian international joins the Sky Blues on a full-time basis following a successful loan spell from fellow Premier League side Brentford, where he impressed with a series of commanding performances during the second half of last season.

Onyeka initially arrived at Coventry in February and quickly established himself as an important figure in the club's midfield, playing a key role as they secured promotion to the Premier League.

His consistent displays, work rate and experience convinced Coventry's hierarchy to make the move permanent as they strengthen their squad ahead of their return to England's top flight.

The 28-year-old brings valuable Premier League experience to the newly promoted side, having previously featured for Brentford after joining the club from Danish outfit FC Midtjylland.

Renowned for his energy, ball-winning ability and defensive discipline, Onyeka is expected to play a significant role in Coventry's bid to retain their Premier League status during the 2026/27 campaign.

The move also provides the Super Eagles midfielder with greater stability and the opportunity to continue playing regular top-flight football as he looks to cement his place in Nigeria's squad for future international assignments.
