Turkish champions Galatasaray have intensified their pursuit of Nigeria-born midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu by submitting an offer worth around €30 million to Burnley, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 21-year-old, who is the nephew of former Super Eagles defender Onyekachi Apam, has emerged as one of Galatasaray's top transfer targets as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
According to reports from Turkey, discussions between the two clubs have also included the possibility of a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent, although Galatasaray are believed to have made it clear that they will not increase their current offer.
Ugochukwu is reportedly keen on the prospect of playing UEFA Champions League football, making a move to the Turkish giants an attractive option if an agreement can be reached.
The France youth international enjoyed an impressive campaign with Burnley last season, featuring in 38 matches across all competitions while contributing three goals and two assists from midfield.
Despite Galatasaray's strong interest, Burnley are yet to make a final decision on the proposal. The Premier League club remains in a strong negotiating position, with Ugochukwu under contract until 2030.
The midfielder is currently valued at approximately €22 million, and Burnley's response in the coming days is expected to determine whether the transfer negotiations progress further.
