Milan are expecting Luka Modric to return from international duty in good condition after reaching an understanding with the Croatia manager over the midfielder’s involvement in the national team’s next three matches.
Croatia have two games against Spain still to play, as well as a fixture against longstanding rivals England. The schedule has raised concerns at Milan, who are counting on Modric after the international break.
According to pianetamilan.it, the Italian club have agreed with Croatia’s coach that the veteran will not be used excessively during the upcoming fixtures.
Modric is therefore likely to feature from the substitutes’ bench rather than start those matches. The 2025 signing has played for Milan since joining the club that year.
