Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau set to name squads for Nigeria AFCON qualifiers

Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau are preparing to announce their squads for their respective 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Nigeria.

Madagascar’s Barea are expected to confirm their selection for the opening-round fixture with the Super Eagles, which will take place in Uyo on Thursday, September 25.

According to Midi Madagasikara, head coach Corentin Martins is likely to include three uncapped players in his squad. Up to five footballers from the Malagasy League could also be selected for the match.

The Barea’s squad announcement will come before they travel to Nigeria for the first of the two fixtures involving the three-time African champions.

Guinea-Bissau to reveal squad on Thursday

Guinea-Bissau’s Djurtus are also due to name their squad on Thursday, ahead of their Matchday Two meeting with Nigeria.

Head coach Emiliano Te will announce his players during a media interaction at the Estadio Nacional 24 de Setembro.

Guinea-Bissau will host Nigeria at the same stadium on Tuesday, September 29.

Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has not yet announced his squad for the two qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
