Paul Onuachu returned to the scoresheet in emphatic fashion, scoring twice as Trabzonspor thrashed Genclerbirligi 5-0 in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Nigerian striker, who finished as joint-top scorer in the Super Lig last season, had endured a frustrating start to the new campaign, failing to score in his first five appearances across all competitions.
That drought came to an end after just five minutes at Papara Park, when Onuachu opened the scoring for Trabzonspor.
Mohamed Salah doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 14th minute before Onuachu struck again eight minutes later to complete his brace and put the hosts 3-0 ahead.
Onuachu’s afternoon was cut short shortly before half-time, with the striker replaced by Guinea-Bissau forward Franculino in the 44th minute.

Trabzonspor continued their dominance after the break, with Ernest Muci adding a fourth goal in the 59th minute before Franculino completed the rout in the 78th minute.
The emphatic victory gives Onuachu a timely confidence boost after his slow start to the campaign, while Trabzonspor secured a convincing three points in their fourth league match of the season.
