Rangers Chief Executive Officer Amobi Ezeaku says the Nigerian champions are prepared to give everything required to eliminate MC Alger and advance in the CAF Champions League.
Rangers hold a two-goal advantage after beating the Algerian club 2-0 in the first leg of their second preliminary round tie. The decisive return fixture is scheduled for Friday at Stade Ali Ammar in Algiers.
Ezeaku believes Rangers have the character to complete the job against their North African opponents. He said the team would approach the match with purpose and resilience as they attempt to secure a place in the group stage.
In a motivational message posted on his official Facebook page, the Rangers chief presented the squad as ready for the demands of the contest and insisted the club would not retreat whatever challenges it faced.
“Forged for the fight, built for the storm, and unbreakable in spirit whatever stands before Rangers, we march towards it, never back down, never surrender. NEVER SAY DIE!” Ezeaku wrote.
The chief executive also highlighted the work carried out by the club during the past three years, describing Sunday’s encounter as a crucial point in Rangers’ development and a moment that could shape what comes next.
“I made a promise when we came here to give our all. For three years we’ve done that. And there’s one moment. This moment. It defines our future,” he added.
Ezeaku said the team’s supporters and other well-wishers could expect a committed performance in Algiers. He also expressed complete confidence that Rangers would achieve the outcome needed to progress.
“Just one thing I want to say to our fans and those who believe you’ll be happy and proud on the night. Nothing matters anymore. We win or we win!!!” he concluded.
Rangers will now seek to preserve their 2-0 lead in the second leg and confirm qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage. The result would allow the Nigerian champions to move beyond the second preliminary round at MC Alger’s expense.
