Samuel Chukwueze injury could keep AC Milan winger out for months

Samuel Chukwueze is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hip injury that could rule him out for several weeks or even months.

The AC Milan winger missed Wednesday morning’s training session before the club’s UEFA Europa League meeting with Premier League side Bournemouth.

Chukwueze felt discomfort in his left hip, and Milan are concerned the problem may be more serious than initially hoped. According to Sport Mediaset, the Nigeria international is due to undergo a specialist examination today to establish the full extent of the injury.

The 27-year-old has made an encouraging start to the season under Ruben Amorim after returning from a loan spell at Fulham. He has contributed two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri.

His possible absence would further reduce Milan’s attacking options. The club are already without Alexis Saelemaekers, who recently underwent ankle surgery.

The Belgium international is expected to be unavailable for at least five months.
