The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved a significant increase in prize money for the CAF Confederation Cup ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, with the winner now set to receive $4 million, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Under the revised financial structure released by CAF, the competition’s runner-up will earn $1 million, while each of the losing semi-finalists will take home $750,000. Clubs knocked out at the quarter-final stage will receive $550,000 each.

The upward review forms part of CAF’s wider plan to boost the commercial appeal and overall standard of its inter-club tournaments. By increasing financial rewards, the continental body aims to enhance competitiveness and provide stronger incentives for participating teams across Africa.

The Confederation Cup, regarded as Africa’s second-tier club competition, has witnessed growing interest and improved quality in recent years. With the enhanced prize package in place, expectations are high that the 2025/26 edition will deliver even greater intensity and competition among clubs vying for continental success.
