Tottenham will have a week without a match after their 3-2 defeat by Aston Villa on the fifth matchweek of the Premier League, according to The Telegraph journalist Matt Law.
The break had been arranged before Tottenham dropped to 20th in the table, meaning manager Roberto De Zerbi decided not to change the schedule despite his concerns about the players’ physical condition.
The time off will apply to Tottenham players who were not selected for international duty.
Tottenham have collected only two points from the opening part of their Premier League campaign, leaving them bottom of the table. Fulham also have two points.
The defeat by Aston Villa was Tottenham’s first loss in the fifth round, and they scored their first goal of the season in that match.
