Manchester United’s difficult start to the season has prompted reports of a possible change in the dugout, with Eddie Howe reportedly viewed as a potential successor to Michael Carrick.
The club have collected only four points from their opening four Premier League matches and were eliminated from the League Cup after losing 3-2 at home to Brighton.
Carrick guided Manchester United through an impressive second half of the previous campaign after replacing the sacked Ruben Amorim. However, the team’s form has been less convincing since the start of the new season.
According to Topskills Sports UK, Howe is among the candidates who could be considered if Manchester United decide to part company with Carrick. The report also claims Howe would be interested in taking charge at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are not currently planning to dismiss Carrick. However, his position could come under threat if results do not improve soon.
