Victor Osimhen is reportedly under scrutiny from Italian authorities following a complaint linked to an alleged unpaid car lease valued at around €90,000, Nigeriasoccernet.com understands.
According to reports from Il Napolista, legal representatives of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Italia filed the complaint at a police station in Milan, relating to a 2023 leasing agreement for a hybrid Mercedes GLE.
The issue is said to date back to the striker’s time at SSC Napoli, where he played a central role in their 2022/23 Serie A title triumph. The company alleges that the forward failed to keep up with agreed monthly payments and did not return the vehicle after the lease expired.
Italian authorities are now understood to have opened preliminary inquiries into possible “appropriazione indebita” (embezzlement), a development that could potentially escalate the matter beyond a civil dispute.
The reported situation contrasts with the player’s known preference for luxury vehicles since his move to Galatasaray S.K., where he has been linked with high-end cars, including the Lamborghini Revuelto, Lamborghini Urus, and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
As the situation develops, representatives of Mercedes-Benz are expected to engage with Osimhen’s camp for clarification before deciding on further legal action.
