Paul Onuachu is expected to be fit for Trabzonspor’s Turkish Super Lig meeting with Besiktas next Monday after the Nigeria striker suffered an injury in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League match against KuPS.
Onuachu gave Trabzonspor the lead against the Finnish side after only three minutes, but his involvement ended six minutes later when he was forced to leave the pitch.
The early substitution prompted concern that the forward could miss the important league fixture against Besiktas, although initial reports suggest the injury is not serious.
Turkish news outlet Taka Gazete reported that Onuachu was able to leave the stadium on foot following the match. Trabzonspor are expected to step up their efforts to ensure he reaches full fitness before Monday’s game.
The 31-year-old has scored two goals in seven Turkish Super Lig appearances for the Black Sea Storm this season.
