Udon Banjan have signed Nigeria centre-forward Michael Aliu from Samui Utd. on a free transfer, adding the 24-year-old forward to their squad.
Aliu completed the move on 11 September 2026 and has agreed a contract with Udon Banjan running until 30 June 2027. The Lagos-born striker will wear the club’s number 10 shirt.
The 1.98m forward arrives after a season with Samui Utd., having previously played for Muang Loei Utd., Songkhla FC and North Bangkok. Each of his moves between those clubs was completed without a transfer fee, with his switch to Udon Banjan following the same route.
Aliu’s recent record includes eight goals and two assists across 13 appearances in three competitions. He scored seven times in seven Thai FA Cup appearances, adding one assist, while also contributing one goal and one assist in five matches in the Thai League 3 Champions League. He made one further appearance in the Thai Cup.
His most productive spell came in the Thai FA Cup, where he found the net every 59 minutes across 414 minutes of action. In the Thai League 3 Champions League, he played 281 minutes and scored once.
Aliu is a left-footed centre-forward and joins Udon Banjan after a single season with Samui Utd. He moved to Samui from Muang Loei Utd. on 7 September 2025, having joined Muang Loei from Songkhla FC in July 2024. His earlier senior move was from North Bangkok to Songkhla in December 2023.
The transfer gives Udon Banjan a forward with a clear recent scoring contribution, particularly in cup competition. Aliu’s appearances have come across Thai domestic tournaments, with his latest recorded campaign including goals in both the Thai FA Cup and the Thai League 3 Champions League.
Born on 2 March 2002, Aliu has spent his senior career in Thailand after beginning his recorded club journey with North Bangkok. His move to Udon Banjan is the fourth club change of his career and his third successive transfer completed as a free move.
Aliu has now joined Udon Banjan on a free transfer and is contracted to the club until June 2027.
