Olympique de Marseille winger Timothy Weah has expressed confidence in Tochukwu Nnadi, tipping the Super Eagles midfielder to step up in his absence ahead of Saturday’s Ligue 1 fixture against FC Nantes, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Weah will miss the encounter after serving a suspension triggered by the accumulation of five yellow cards, leaving a gap in Marseille’s attacking options for the crucial tie.

Speaking in an interview with Massilia Zone, the American international highlighted Nnadi as the ideal candidate to fill the role, citing the Nigerian’s pace and recent performances as key strengths.

“Who’s going to replace me with my suspension? There are plenty of players. Nnadi is going to do the team a lot of good; he’s quick. We all saw him in the last match. I see him perfectly filling that role,” Weah said.

Nnadi, who has been gradually integrating into the Marseille setup, impressed in his recent outing and is now in contention for a starting role as the club looks to maintain momentum in the Ligue 1.

With Marseille aiming for a strong finish to the season, the opportunity presents a significant moment for the Nigerian midfielder to further establish himself within the squad.
