Achraf Hakimi’s three-goal display helps Paris Saint-Germain extend Ligue 1 lead

Achraf Hakimi scored his first hat-trick for Paris Saint-Germain as the French champions beat Le Havre 5-1 on Friday to strengthen their position at the top of Ligue 1.

The Morocco international found the net in the 28th, 55th and 69th minutes, while also providing two assists. He was therefore directly involved in all five of Paris Saint-Germain’s goals during the 9th matchday fixture.

Hakimi is best known for his pace, energy and attacking runs from right-back, but against the league’s bottom side he took on the role of primary finisher. His three goals marked a landmark performance in his career with the capital club.

First PSG hat-trick

The treble was the first of Hakimi’s career in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt and underlined his growing influence in Luis Enrique’s team.

Rather than limiting himself to defensive duties on the right flank, the 26-year-old repeatedly advanced into dangerous positions and used his technical ability to threaten Le Havre’s defence. His movement into the penalty area and willingness to support attacks played a decisive part in the emphatic victory.

The performance also highlighted Hakimi’s importance to Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking structure. His ability to cover ground, arrive in the opposition box and contribute both goals and assists makes him a key part of the side’s approach.

Hakimi is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2029 and continues to establish himself as one of the leading players in the squad. His market value is estimated at 80 million euros by Transfermarkt.

The Morocco international now heads into the club’s next challenges with confidence after producing one of the most productive displays of his time in France. His first hat-trick for Paris Saint-Germain is likely to remain a significant moment in his career in the French capital.
