William Troost-Ekong, a defender for Nigeria's Super Eagles, has responded to the draw for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, which took place on Monday in Morocco, according to Nigeriasoccernet.com.
Ekong says the draw which pitched Nigeria against Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania though not easy, but he believes the team will do well.
The Alkholood defender states that the three-time AFCON winners are more experienced and have learned lessons from losing out last year in Cote d'Ivoire.
"AFCON 2025 draw now over, very exciting to see the new group, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania, three teams that need to be respected. I think now we have the experience to handle these situations. There's no such thing as easy game in Africa. But I believe we have everything in our team to make sure we come out of the group and this time go all the way", he said.
He promised that a better Super Eagles will feature in this year's as they will be working throughout the year to be fit.
"We learn so much last year from the AFCON in Abidjan, but this time we'll be more ready and be working throughout the year to make sure everyone is fit and ready and everyone is looking forward to get going under the new coach."
Ekong who was awarded as the best player of the tournament helped the team to the finals where it lost to the host nation, Cote D'Ivoire in the final.
