Andreas Christensen injury could keep Barcelona defender out until November

Barcelona centre-back Andreas Christensen may be sidelined for up to two months with a muscle problem in his left thigh, according to Barca Universal.

Initial reports suggested the 30-year-old would need between four and six weeks to recover. However, sources close to the Denmark international believe his rehabilitation could take longer and extend to two months.

Christensen sustained the injury during Barcelona’s 3-1 victory over Sevilla and was substituted in the second half. He has made seven appearances in all competitions this season and has provided one assist.

Barcelona sit top of the Spanish championship after seven rounds, having collected 21 points.
