Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta does not view the return of William Saliba as a problem, despite the competition it creates for places alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and Ezri Konsa.
“I wouldn’t call it a problem,” Arteta said when asked how Arsenal would use their central defenders.
Gabriel Magalhaes and Konsa have formed Arsenal’s first-choice centre-back partnership during the current season. Gabriel has made 14 appearances, while Konsa has played 13 times, with both defenders scoring one goal.
Saliba has yet to feature for Arsenal this campaign after recovering from a back injury. His return gives Arteta another option in the centre of defence, alongside the established pairing of Gabriel Magalhaes and Konsa.
