Atletico Madrid defender Cristian Romero described the capital as “red and white” after his side beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the seventh round of La Liga.
The victory lifted Atletico to second place in the Spanish top-flight table with 16 points from their opening seven matches. They trail leaders Barcelona by five points.
Atletico’s next fixture is away to Alaves on 10 October.
