Barcelona could pursue Manchester City forward Rayan Cherki if the club is hit with serious sanctions for alleged breaches of financial regulations, according to reports.
The prospect of a major player sale at Manchester City has attracted interest from several leading European clubs. Barcelona are understood to be considering Erling Haaland as a possible attacking target in that scenario, but the Norway international is not the only City player of interest to the Catalan club.
El Nacional reports that Cherki would be willing to consider an offer from Barcelona if sanctions were imposed on Manchester City.
The report also claims Barcelona could use Fermin Lopez as a potential “exchange asset” in any deal. Selling the midfielder could provide the funds required to finance a move for Cherki.
Reports of a possible Manchester City clear-out have emerged in connection with the club potentially facing serious punishment over financial-rule violations.
