Bayern Munich positive over Harry Kane deal until 2029

Bayern Munich are optimistic about extending Harry Kane’s contract, with the England captain expected to remain at the club until the summer of 2029.

The defending Bundesliga champions are finalising the terms of the proposed renewal, with an announcement potentially due next month. Sporting Director Max Eberl says discussions with Kane are progressing well, although no final agreement has yet been reached.

“The talks are going very well. I know we get asked about it every three days, and we answer with what we can. There’s no commitment yet, there’s no ‘yes’, but we’re having very good talks, and we’re all positive,” Eberl said.

Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham in 2023 and has settled successfully in Munich. The England captain has scored 154 goals in 156 appearances for the German club since making the move.

His form continued last season, when he scored 73 goals for club and country, including at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with England. Those performances have placed Kane among the favourites to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or.

All parties are understood to be in agreement over continuing his career in Bavaria, with only the final details of the extension still to be completed.
