Inter defender Benjamin Pavard has suffered a strain to the adductor muscles in his right thigh, the club have confirmed.
The France international underwent medical tests in Milan on Thursday morning, with the examination identifying the injury. Pavard is expected to be out for about 20 days.
As a result, he is set to miss Inter’s matches against Bologna, Fiorentina and Venezia. He is also unlikely to be fit for the Milan derby against Milan at the end of October.
Inter’s squad problems have grown after their 4-3 defeat by Club Brugge in the Champions League. The Italian side have failed to collect a point after two matches in the league phase.
Inter captain Lautaro Martinez also sustained a hamstring injury during the defeat by the Belgian club. As previously reported, the Argentina forward is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.
Curtis Jones and John Stones are also injured. Stones has not played since September because of a hamstring problem.
