Brazil weigh Raphinha role change for Australia friendly

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti is considering deploying Barcelona forward Raphinha Dias as a central striker in the upcoming friendly against Australia.

The 29-year-old has been in outstanding form for Barcelona this season after moving into the centre-forward position. According to Sport, Ancelotti is planning to follow the approach of Barcelona manager Hans-Dieter Flick by using the nominal winger at the point of attack.

Brazil will face Australia on Tuesday, 29 September, with kick-off scheduled for 13:00 Moscow time.

Raphinha has scored 14 goals and provided three assists in eight appearances for Barcelona during the current campaign. In the previous friendly between Brazil and Australia, the Barcelona player registered an assist while operating in the number 10 role.
