MC Alger will look to complete the job against ASN Nigelec when the two sides meet in the second leg of their CAF Champions League first preliminary round tie on Saturday, 12 September at 19:00 GMT.
The Algerian club were held to a goalless draw in Niamey in the opening match, leaving the contest finely balanced ahead of the return at home. MC Alger now have the advantage of playing on their own ground but must improve in attack after failing to score in Niger.
ASN Nigelec managed to keep a clean sheet in the first leg and will travel to Algeria knowing that a favourable result could take them through. Their defensive organisation will again be central to their hopes, while they may look to exploit opportunities on the counter-attack.
MC Alger are expected to have more possession and attempt to establish control in the Nigerien side’s half. Their main challenge will be turning that anticipated territorial advantage into clear chances and goals in the final third.
