Ismael Doukoure is expected to join Cote d’Ivoire’s squad for the national team’s upcoming commitments after Odilon Kossounou was ruled out through injury.
The 22-year-old Racing Club de Strasbourg defender has reportedly been selected as Kossounou’s replacement, according to Ivorian journalist Malick Traore. The call-up has not yet been officially confirmed by the Federation Ivoirienne de Football.
Doukoure has played for Racing Club de Strasbourg since 2022 and offers versatility to Herve Renard’s side. He can operate in central defence or in midfield, giving Cote d’Ivoire an additional option as they adjust to Kossounou’s absence.
His expected inclusion comes as the national team undergoes a period of transition. Herve Renard has recently brought several new players into the squad, with Doukoure set to be another new face if the federation confirms the decision.
