Borussia Dortmund are ready to compete with Manchester United for the signing of Leicester City youngster Louis Page, according to reports.
Manchester United were widely expected to sign the 18-year-old during the summer, but the Premier League club ultimately decided against meeting Leicester’s £12m asking price.
Page remained with Russell Martin’s side and has made an impressive start to the season. The young midfielder has registered three assists in five League One appearances.
TeamTalk reports that Dortmund are now prepared to rival Manchester United in the race for Page.
The German club’s reputation for developing young English players could make the move particularly appealing to Page. Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Jamie Gittens all made high-profile transfers to some of Europe’s biggest clubs after spells with Dortmund.
