Fabio Capello says he returned from China only because his wife was struggling during his time there.
The Italian’s most recent coaching position was with Chinese club Jiangsu Suning, where he worked from 2017 to 2018. Capello said he enjoyed living in China but decided to leave because of the impact the experience was having on his wife.
“I returned from China only because of my wife,” Capello said. “She was suffering a lot.”
Capello previously managed the Russia national team between 2012 and 2015. At club level, he is best known for his work with AC Milan and Real Madrid.
