Florian Grillitsch faces six-week absence after Frosinone operation

Published on: 26 September 2026

Frosinone will be without Florian Grillitsch for up to six weeks after the Austria midfielder underwent surgery to treat a right-sided sports hernia.

Grillitsch, who joined the Serie A club in mid-August, had a hernioplasty in Vienna. Initial assessments suggest he will be sidelined for between four and six weeks.

The injury is a setback for Frosinone, who are enjoying an impressive season and currently sit sixth in Serie A.

Their next match is not until 11 October, when they face Napoli.
