Injured Raphael Onyedika doubtful for crucial UCL tie against Aston Villa

It's absolutely certain that Raphael Onyedika will not be available for the game against KAA Gent tomorrow in the Jupiler Pro League but much more worrisome for head coach Nicky Hayen is the doubt that surrounds his availability for the crucial UCL game against Aston Villa next week, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Belgian news outfit HLN reports that Club Brugge will have to do without Raphael Onyedika against KAA Gent after the midfielder was injured last weekend against Standard and is not fit enough. He is also doubtful for the match against Aston Villa.

Club Brugge seeks to replicate their previous victory over Aston Villa as they host the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie at the Jan Breydelstadion. However, their 1-0 win in the group stage contrasts sharply with their overall 24th-place finish in the league phase.

Muchmore beyond club action, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle would be hoping to have him fit for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Rwanda in March.
