Javier Tebas faces disciplinary review after Real Madrid television remarks

Spain’s Higher Sports Council (CSD) has asked the Sports Administrative Tribunal (TAD) to examine the conduct of La Liga president Javier Tebas following controversial comments about Real Madrid.

The request, reported by AS, could lead to disciplinary action against Tebas, including removal from his position.

The investigation centres on remarks in which Tebas compared the methods used by Real Madrid’s club television channel with the propaganda techniques of Joseph Goebbels. The tribunal will assess whether the comments breached Spanish sports legislation, which prohibits public actions that undermine the dignity of sport.

Tebas has previously sought to clarify his words, saying the comparison referred solely to the way information was distributed. He said it was not intended as a reference to Nazi ideology or to Real Madrid supporters.

Real Madrid has already called for Tebas to resign as La Liga president.
