Julian Ward is returning to Liverpool as the club’s new sporting director, replacing Richard Hughes in the role.
The 45-year-old will work closely with manager Andoni Iraola after agreeing to return to the club.
Ward first joined Liverpool in 2012, moving from Manchester City. He initially worked as a scout before being promoted to deputy sporting director in 2020.
He received another promotion in 2022, but left Liverpool a year later to join Brighton. He will now return to the club and take over from Hughes.
