Juventus add Pape Matar Sarr with option-based deal from Tottenham

Juventus have completed the signing of Senegal international Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham, with the midfielder joining the Italian club in a deal that could eventually be worth up to €30m.

The 23-year-old has moved to Turin on a paid loan initially valued at €2.5m, but the agreement also includes an obligation to buy. That permanent transfer clause has been set at €27.5m, meaning Juventus are expected to retain Sarr beyond the current campaign if the conditions outlined in the agreement are met.

Should all of those requirements be fulfilled, Sarr will become a permanent Juventus player at the end of the 2026/27 season. The overall cost of the transfer would then rise to €30m.

Juventus announced the move on the club’s X account, confirming the arrival of a player who leaves Tottenham to continue his career in Serie A. Sarr’s transfer represents a new challenge in Italy after his time in England and adds another option to the Juventus midfield.

The Senegalese midfielder had also attracted interest from Galatasaray in recent weeks, according to a report first revealed exclusively by Africafoot. His move to Juventus underlines the attention he has received across the European market.

Sarr’s current market value is estimated at €30m, a figure that is almost identical to the full amount Juventus could pay Tottenham under the terms of the agreement. His reported annual salary in England was €4,254,114, equivalent to 2,765,174,100 FCFA.

The transfer comes as Juventus prepare for their third league match of the Italian Championship, when they are due to face AC Milan. Betting company 1xbet lists Juventus as the favourites for that fixture, offering odds of 1.98 for a Juventus victory. A draw is priced at 3.20, while an AC Milan win is listed at 3.40.

The source also promotes a download option for 1xbet. Sarr’s arrival, however, is the main development for Juventus, who have secured a midfielder on an arrangement designed to allow the club to assess the player immediately while retaining a route to a permanent transfer.

With the loan fee and purchase obligation both included, the agreement gives Tottenham the possibility of receiving as much as €30m, while Juventus have secured Sarr’s services for the opening phase of his career in Italy.
