"Lookman would have been a perfect signing" - Antonio Cassano tells Napoli after Okafor's transfer

Former Italy international forward Antonio Cassano has stated that Napoli should have invested in Atalanta's forward Ademola Lookman during the January transfer window instead of Noah Okafor, revealing that the Nigerian forward could help to further push their charge for the Serie A championship title, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

In their search for a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who departed for Paris Saint-Germain in January, SSC Napoli secured the services of Noah Okafor from AC Milan. The deal is structured as a paid loan with an option to buy.

However, former footballer Antonio Cassano believes Napoli missed an opportunity by not pursuing Ademola Lookman. Cassano argues that the Super Eagles forward with his proven qualities and experience in Serie A would have been a perfect fit for the club.

"I imagine what Conte is telling the boys now: “We can go there and win the championship”. So I say… you took 75 million, Lookman’s release clause (even if he’s injured now) is 55 million… you give him Raspadori and you take a ready player who makes the difference, knows Serie A, and Inter should be afraid. At this point, they could take Daniel Maldini, who can play on the left; you pay 13 million, he’s young and has potential", he told Napolista.
