Former Algeria international Mansour Boutabout has assessed Brahim Hemdani’s squad selection for the upcoming two-match meeting with Togo in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Speaking to Maghreb-Foot, the former Algeria striker offered his view on the choices made for the games, while broadly praising the quality of the squad selected.

Boutabout was also asked about Mohamed Azzi, the new defender in the Algeria set-up who plays for CSKA Moscow. He adopted a cautious stance over the newcomer, while maintaining his positive assessment of the group as a whole.

Algeria will face Togo twice in November as part of the Group I qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The first meeting is scheduled for 14 November and will count as the third round of the group stage. The teams will meet again three days later, on 17 November, in the fourth round.

Algeria currently lead Group I with 4 points. Togo are third on 3 points ahead of the double-header.
